An obsessed Miley Cyrus superfan is getting his tattoos of the twerking pop star removed as he says they’re ruining his love life.

Carl McCoid, 43, from Bridlington, East Yorks, has a whopping 29 Miley-inspired inkings, but now he claims he doesn't like the singer any more - and is begging tattoo artists to cover them up so that he has a chance of finding a girlfriend.

The divorced dad-of-three said: “The conversation just seems to be centred on them and it just gets boring. I feel like I can’t move on.”

Single Carl had his first Miley tattoo done in 2010 and has since spent £2,800 plastering his entire body with images of her face, name and song lyrics.

Last year, in a US interview Miley Cyrus branded Carl’s tattoos as "ugly" and "creepy".

The Wrecking Ball star said: "There’s a dude that holds a record of the most pictures of my face, he has like 18 pictures of my face and they’re really ugly."

But Carl - who has even named one of his kids after the Hannah Montana actress - claims her opinion didn’t sway his decision and insists he's gone off her due to her shocking and provocative behaviour.

“She’s doing silly things and I don’t want to be associated with the things that she does," he said. "She used to be the girl next door but she’s losing a lot of fans.”

Carl, who runs his own ironing business, faced a £6,000 bill to remove them through laser treatment last year but has now resorted to ink cover-ups to speed up the process.

Recently he began laser treatment on his largest Miley tattoo, a picture of her face on his torso, but found it extremely painful.

"That really hurt - it was ten times worse than getting them, but I'm not bothered how much pain I have to go through," he explained. “I feel set free and it feels great to be getting rid of them.”

Desperate Carl hopes removing them at any cost might bag him a girlfriend.
