BIRDS AND THE BEES

Is it possible that a mouse in our cellar could survive solely by eating cardboard boxes?

  • I DOUBT the mouse could live on cardboard because rodents only eat hard things. Otherwise their teeth grow and grow until they cut into their own head. Suddenly blood will pour out and the mouse will die in a pool of its own redness.

  • THE Steamer Point area of Aden used to be full of small shops selling duty-free electrical goods. Their cardboard containers were piled high in the streets outside. There was not a blade of grass anywhere and large numbers of domesticated goats lived exclusively on the cardboard. They seemed perfectly well nourished and were milked daily.
